a proper biosketch
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of English at Utah State University. I teach courses in professional writing, rhetorical theory and the rhetorics of technology, and computer game design and development. My research is focused on the effects of technical discourse on human agency, especially surrounding emergent technologies in the consumer electronics industry. My work has appeared in Technical Communication Quarterly, Kairos, fibreculture, Game Studies, Computers and Composition Online, Works and Days, and in edited collections. I am currently working on a book manuscript that examines the rhetoric of play in professional, consumer-oriented discourse.
